A New Day

Today's Verse

"In the day of prosperity be joyful, and in the day of adversity consider; God has made the one as well as the other, so that mortals may not find out anything that will come after them." - Ecclesiastes 7:14

Sometimes it can be difficult to overcome those days of adversity. They come like a thief in the night and drain everything they can from you. These kind of days are what I imagine many of the people in Florida affected by the recent hurricane are dealing with right now. Truthfully, I have always felt that these days are some of the more challenging to face. You work hard and do everything you can to be successful and then something happens and everything you are building just seems to fall apart. On the other hand, there are great days as well. Days in which the sun is shining in your life and everything just seems to be going right. Like the day you meet your wife, the day you moved into your new house, or perhaps the day your child was accepted into college. Those days are the ones you hold onto and help to define your life. Just remember, God creates both the good and the bad and we should honor and praise Him in all situation. Commentary by: Matthew J. Elliot.

Today's Prayer

Father, every day is a new day and we know they come and go. As we endeavor to work through both the good and bad days, give us the strength to honor you. Amen.

Recently natural disasters have topped headlines all around the world. If people would like to make a donation to the relief efforts we have put together a list of the more well known organizations, and have made it easier for our readers to help those in need.  If you are unable to help either physically, or financially, please join our prayer as we pray for the safety and well being of all those who are affected.

Thank you & God bless,
David
