Today's Verse

"Then God said, 'Let there be light'; and there was light." - Genesis 1:3

The previous verse tells us that the earth was formless and darkness was in the depth of it. In other words, the earth had no beauty, yet the Spirit of God hovered over it. And then God spoke the first statement, "Let there be light." So there was light and the earth was exposed to it. We all know the story of creation, how God transformed the planet from a lifeless void into a world full of beauty and wonder. We now behold its beauty, from the highest of heights down to the depths of the sea. Earth's story is like our stories. We were once useless and meaningless, until Christ appeared. He beautifies every area of our life as we are continually exposed in Him. Therefore if the light of God changed the ugly cosmos into a beautiful planet, then the person of light, our Lord Jesus Christ can definitely transform each of us as well. - Commentary by: Dionivie Tacder

Today's Prayer

Lord Jesus, I come to You as I am. I bring all my weaknesses and failures. I surrender myself into Your radiant light. Allow me to be exposed in it so my life will be changed for Your glory. Amen.
