Today's Verse

"We must all die; we are like water spilled on the ground, which cannot be gathered up. But God will not take away a life; he will devise plans so as not to keep an outcast banished forever from his presence." - 2 Samuel 14:14

Though death was never supposed to be a part of the world that God created, sin has made it necessary for all to pay the penalty of death. Romans 5:12 says: "Therefore, just as sin came into the world through one man, and death came through sin, and so death spread to all because all have sinned— " Yet, God has devised a way that though we are expelled from life on Earth, we are not expelled from Him. With tremendous love for each person, God gives us a means of escape from the Second Death through the gift of His Son, Jesus Christ. God has not only made provision of escape from Hell, but also from the difficult situations we encounter on Earth. Though we must still bear the consequences of our sin by assorted troubles and ultimately death, God lovingly grants us salvation from some of our earthly struggles and always a means of closer fellowship with Him. - Commentary by: Steffanie Howard

Today's Prayer

Father, thank You for the gift of salvation and the fellowship that You have granted me by Jesus Christ. Please help me to cherish this gift more by sharing it with others. Amen.
