Today's Verse

"With my whole heart I seek you; do not let me stray from your commandments. I treasure your word in my heart, so that I may not sin against you." – Psalm 119:10-11

When my daughter wants something lately she has gotten it in her head that the phrase "come on" will get her what she wants. The truth is that it doesn't usually turn out that way for her. When it doesn't she starts to say it over and over again, getting even more sarcastic, hoping that the answer will change. In a strange way this verse made me think of that phrase "come on" and of the fact that there is someone else who says that a lot as well, but in a different way. God says this to us all the time as He works through the rough spots in our lives. He says "come on" you're one step closer to doing what I need you to do in your life. "Come on" it's time for change. Don't be afraid to take that step today. - Commentary by: Matthew J. Elliott

Today's Prayer

Father God, I know that you're always there trying to help push me along in my life and in my faith. I pray that I will listen when You say "come on" and that instead of answering no, I will say yes. In Jesus name Amen.
