Jesus, Our Bridge Builder

Gospel Template

Today's Verse

"Through him you have come to trust in God, who raised him from the dead and gave him glory, so that your faith and hope are set on God." – 1 Peter 1:21

What does it really mean to set our faith and hope in God? We hear people say to us all the time, "place your faith in God and place your hope in Him," but does it really mean anything? The answer of course is a resounding yes, but most of us don't really stop to think about that, do we? When we first come to know the Lord, Jesus acts as our intercessor, our bridge builder to God. That connection is with us every day we walk with God and it plays a huge role in building our faith. It helps us claim the hope we profess in our lives. We place our hope in God by exercising our faith. We exercise our faith by embracing Jesus as much as we can. - Commentary by: Matthew J. Elliott

Today's Prayer

Father God, today is one of those days that I want to know You more. Show me ways to exercise my faith and embrace Your hopeful heart. Thank You for sending Your son to intercede on our behalf along the way. Amen.
