Today's Verse

"Children, obey your parents in the Lord; for this is right." "Honour thy Father and Mother; which is the first commandment with promise." – Ephesians 6: 1, 2

We all had to learn how to ride a bicycle. Training wheels were put in place to promote balance, and encourage confidence. It took will, practice, and perseverance. But, a determined heart soon accomplished the task. The training wheels were no longer needed. A Godly family is a beautiful representation of God's grace. It is a work of art in progress that slowly develops with each stage of learning. Children are like seeds. You nurture them to grow with great understanding. Sometimes, they can be quite stubborn. But, success soon takes hold with a little extra love and patience. Children are called upon to have respect and reverence for their parents. But, God knows and understands that learning must take place in the process of growing. The family must work together to become the strong unit that God wants them to be, one step at a time. – Commentary by Lisa M. Leto

Father, thank You for the Godly family unit. It is the powerful cornerstone of everyday life. It is a beautiful reflection of Your awesome grace. Amen.
