Today's Verse

"It is by grace you have been saved through faith – and this not of yourselves, it is the gift of God." – Ephesians 2: 8

This gift of God is the core of the Gospel. Again and again as we read the Word we are told that there is nothing in us that is worthy of God. Our very hearts are enemies of His because of sin. The separation that sin brought with it is drastic and starts from the innocence of the womb. Alienated. Outcast. Ostracized. Until God Himself became the bridge to allow us to go over to where He is. There was nothing we could do to go to God so God came to us. How beautiful is that? How amazing! This is the God that we serve. He laid everything on the line when He did not have to and we are one with Him because of that. – Commentary by Sarine Thomas
