Today's Verse

Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness but will have the light of life. – John 8:12

The world around us is full of darkness and sometimes that darkness can be a little intimidating. Sometimes that darkness can even take the light of our lives and hide it from our hearts. Working through those times is never an easy feat. The good news is that the Light of our Life can never really be diminished. There may be some moments in which we feel that our light no longer exists, but as long as Jesus dwells in our hearts, we don't have to fear that our light will fade into darkness. Jesus is the light of the world, the light of our hearts. Those that follow His guiding hand do not have to fear the darkness that is all around. Today, embrace His light as the light of your life. – Commentary by Matthew Elliott

Today's Prayer

Father God, You are a great and mighty, daily I face the oncoming darkness, show me ways to embrace Your light in my life with each day I experience. Amen.
