Christmas Light

Gospel Template

Today's Verse

"The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light; those who lived in a land of deep darkness—on them light has shined." –Isaiah 9:2

The people of Israel, before Jesus, were waiting eagerly for the promised Messiah. It was a dark time for the Israelites. They hadn't had a special word from God, through the prophets in quite a while, and the Romans had taken over the land in all their brutality. The Israelites were in desperate need of some hope and peace; some light to show them a better future. They were expecting a mighty warrior who could overthrow their cruel leaders. Jesus came, not as a conquering king, but as a vulnerable baby and a suffering servant. He brought more than earthly freedom; He brought heavenly light to show them the way to God. Let His light flood the darkness of your life and remember this Christmas season that He came to give you hope! - Commentary by Traci Elliott

Today's Prayer

Dear Jesus, thank you for coming to this earth and suffering through life, so that we could have your light dwelling in us, showing us the way to heaven. In Your name, Amen.

Once again, it is the end of the week and the weekend is before us.  I want to thank our new Patreon subscribers. Your support is very much appreciated and allows us to continue to do what we do and to grow our ministry. Wishing everyone a wonderful Christmas from all of
us at The Gospel Daily. May you celebrate Jesus' birthday in the context that it was meant to be.  We have so much to be grateful for.

Merry Christmas,
David
