Convicting Faith

Gospel Template

Today's Verse

"The faith that you have, have as your own conviction before God, Blessed are those who have no reason to condemn themselves because of what they approve." Romans 14:22

Do you ever wonder if your convictions are too strict? Do you feel they force you to hold others to a higher standard than you should? It's not an easy place to be. There is a delicate balance in life that keeps us all in check and sometimes we're not. Here is something to remember. If you are a dedicated believer, God will place some of the deepest convictions upon your heart. It is a part of your identity in Christ. Of course, there are times when God may change those convictions, but that is where our faith comes in. Do not condemn yourself for believing something so strongly you're compelled to live up to it. As you grow in your faith you will have hard choices to make, so depend on God to guide you in those convictions. - Commentary by: Matthew Elliott

Today's Prayer

Father God, I know that You have placed certain convictions upon my heart. Today, I pray that You will give me more understanding as to why You have given them to me and help me embrace them as You would. Amen.

One of our writer's, Matthew J. Elliott, has written a book called "Reflecting Christmas."  It has some wonderful insights that will make you think about Christmas in a different way. Check it out HERE.

God Bless,
David
