Today's Verse

When Martha heard that Jesus was coming, she went and met him, while Mary stayed at home. Martha said to Jesus, "Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died. But even now I know that God will give you whatever you ask of him." Jesus said to her, "Your brother will rise again." John 11:20-23

It was an emergency. Mary and Martha sent a message to Jesus to come quickly, because Lazarus His close friend was sick. However, Jesus delayed His trip. Instead, He stayed for two days at the place where He was, then He went off to Lazarus' place. But when He got there, Lazarus was dead. Martha and Mary thought it was too late for Jesus to come. But Jesus had a greater plan and that was to raise Lazarus from the dead. It was too late for Jesus to heal Lazarus, but it wasn't too late to display the great power of God in resurrection. This is a reminder for us. We might think that our plans of what we want to happen are good, but God has better plans. Just trust Him. God has His own perfect timing. - Commentary by: Jeremy B. Trio

Today's Prayer

Lord, help me to trust in Your plans. I know that Your thoughts and ways are higher than mine. So help me Lord to fully trust in You and submit to Your will, because what You have in stored for me is greater than what I have ever dreamed. Amen.
