This is Why Christ Died

Gospel Template

Today's Verse

"For I handed on to you as of first importance what I in turn had received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the scriptures." -1 Corinthians 15:3

It seems to be a popular new trend to diminish the sinfulness of sin. In an attempt to be all accepting and non-judgmental, people are softening how they speak about sin. In part this is good, because the Bible talks about speaking the truth in love and not condemning people. However, we need to be careful when speaking in love; we don't forget the truth part. If our sin isn't that big of a deal, then we really have no need of a savior and Christ's sacrifice has no meaning. The truth is our sins are destructive to us and others. They put us in bondage. Rather than leave us to pay the price for sin, Christ died to give us freedom. Never let that truth become passé, for in it is power to change lives! - Commentary by: Traci Elliott

Today's Prayer

Dear Jesus, thank you for saving us from our sins! Thank you for taking us out of a destructive path and into life! May we never diminish the power of the gospel! Amen.

Help us help others by forwarding our daily emails to friends, family, neighbors, etc. We want everyone to come to know Jesus and love Him as much as we do.

God Bless,
David
