Gospel Template Today's Verse "I delight to do your will, O my God; your law is within my heart." Psalm 40:8 | | | David expresses his delight in doing the will of God. This is the reason why David was called "the man after God's own heart," because his heart was perfectly aligned in God's will. For David, doing the will of God is not a burden or an obligation, but it is his delight. The verse says that God's law is within his heart which is why it was very easy for him to obey God's command. This reminds us that nothing in God's command is too hard to obey and do if you desire to do it. Often times it is difficult to obey not because the command itself is difficult, but simply because our hearts are not inclined to obedience. We should teach our hearts to be submissive to God's command and to love Him fully. - Commentary by: Jeremy B. Trio | | Today's Prayer Lord help me to delight in You and in Your word. Search my heart and change me Lord, so that my desires will be perfectly inclined to Your will and that I will be willing and happy to obey Your commands.
