Judgment Day

Gospel Template

Today's Verse

"And he said to them, "Pay attention to what you hear; the measure you give will be the measure you get, and still more will be given you." – Mark 4:24

For Christians, Judgment Day will not be a day of condemnation. However, it will be a day to give an account for how our faith was lived out. God, in His mercy and justice, gives us a little insight into the standards that we are judged by. With the measure we give, the way that we judge others will determine how we will be judged. Do you weigh other people's deeds with hardness, impatience, unforgiveness, or hypocrisy? "Pay attention," our Lord says, for the lofty standards we hold others to, He will judge our own lives. When the effectiveness of your faith is judged, will it be rewarded or will you be disappointed by how you spent your Christian faith? - Commentary by: Steffanie Howard

Today's Prayer

Lord, let my ears be open to the hard hitting truth of Your Word. Help me to make fair judgments, according to the standards of Your Word, and to live my life faithfully dedicated to You. Amen.

Today is Ash Wednesday, which marks the season of Lent. Many Christians prepare for Easter by observing a period of fasting, moderation, repentance, and spiritual discipline. Today is a day for gratitude. Think about it.

God Bless,
David
